As everyone knows, the MERs take images of the sun every so often. Not really sure why but they have since the start. Occasionally we get strange effects showing up and this is one such effect in Sol 336. These images are taken through different filters NOT the number 8 sun filter which is always used to image the sun so it will not burn out the CCD. To me, this does not appear to be the sun - but if it is, then why photograph it through filters which will burn out the CCD or possibly so? Below are the images, there might be something else in the photo below which is what they are trying to show.
