If anyone has Google earth going, I think it would be a good exercise to find some similar sparsely populated area and give us a view from 10,000m away which is the same distance as this. It would give us an idea of the size of things, houses, paths, roads on Earth and on rosetta. Everything Google is blocked here at the moment.
If I wanted to, I am sure I could imagine some paths/tracks/roads, houses, etc in Timewarps images. If I remember correctly, Rosetta was the mission that the lander Philae did not land in a very good place on the surface and they only had a few hours of juice left before the batteries died. I appreciate how difficult it must be to land a spacecraft on a small knobbly comet but it is coincidental that no good images were received due to a low light touchdown. If I have missed these Philae images, please post a link.
Hi qmantoo. To look at the original image please go to the following link and click on the Image numbered 8/10. The object identified in my post is situated half way down and to the left. You can download a high res version.
any possibility of the original picture URL please? I say that because I have taken the one from here and THINK I see extra bits and pieces in it and I want to look at the original released one.
In particular, the mechanical arm at bottom centre right of your image above. This is a cut of the mechanical arm in the area of the image above. (not from any original)

I've seen a lot of Rosetta anomalies posted on the internet recently. This isn't my area of study as such but I just wondered if anyone had identified this one.
There even seems to be a face on its upper surface. Observations welcome. Apologies if this has already been found.
