The dune in this pic is not real. I know some of us have probably deduced this already but I will provide evidence to back this up
This is my highlight of most of the anoms found to date, there are more.
This is a 3 layer overlay of the dune itself, a bit overkill but I wanted to see what they were hiding. It appears that the line of the top of the dune follows a structure that you can barely see even with the overlays.
This is only a 1 layer overlay but enough to see some slight detail of surface objects continuing into the "dune".
This is another section showing the main structure of whatever is being obscured. Parts are visible under the edge of the "dune".
The link is to a post I made that has quite a few pictorial examples to illustrate my point.
As with any conceptual medium words are inadequate but I'll try:
There are rocks at the top of the hill that are not a part of the substructure beneath them. They have been shaped and are of uniform thickness. They have broken and tumbled because the larger pieces are directly below and smaller pieces have travelled further. Broken metallic structures are also scattered among them. These have also scattered in the same pattern. Some are impossible for "nature" even Martian nature to have shaped. At the bottom in the very extreme left of the paler coloured ground is a curved pattern of sharp edges protruding from the ground, and at the near end of these is a very interesting "rock". On the original image there are two of these, but they have kept the best one. The original composite image is PIA17944.jpg, they have cut this for the photojournal picture I used.
In the near bottom foreground are some close ups of items arranged by Curiosity.
