Warning to members who visit Skippers guest book that there is a virus was called w32.rontokbro@mm at his site which is a mass-mailing worm that causes system instability, I have emailed skipper warning him so it can be corrected, a similar attack took place a couple of years back on the guestbook that was dealt with quite quickly.
This was my first visit to the guestbook using my new computer, thankfully my security suite prevented the virus from attaching to my new computer, also when I tried to visit his guestbook using a smart phone the screen flashed up a warning that my phone had been infected and to take action now by clicking the highlighted box, a timer then appears counting down from 5 minutes, the phone I used did not have any security software installed in which to warn me of infection, w32.rontokbro@mm is a mass-mailing worm that causes system instability, although it is not a new virus this is a nasty virus if you get infected as it Creates an additional shortcut of all folders as an exe file.

I believe I am correct in saying that we have to ensure that any posts we need to keep are saved to our local PC because the activeboard forums are not copied or backed up at all. That is - unless they have just started to do this. Have they?.
As far as I know, anyone who starts a free forum on activeboard will not get their data backed up in case of loss/fire/data corruption.
In case there is no room on your hard drive for the mountains of data I am sure we all have on anomalies, I believe Tencent in China are offering 1Tb of free storage space if anyone is interested in placing their photo archives 'in the cloud'.
I would offer to download and copy the forum but some of the images linked from places like photobucket are not available to me from my location, so any copy I made would be incomplete. It would also take a huge amount of space now after all these years of posts. I agree though that there is so much good stuff and documented anomalies on this forum which are probably on no other forum on the internet.
