Here is a Nerdist.com post by Emily Lakdawalla who is active on unmanned space flight forum and details how the images get from Curiosity to the web in approx 1.5 hours (surprising because she says the Mars orbiter only passes overhead to receive and relay the data to Earth 2-3 times par day.
