rdunk, you did a nice job on clarifying the image as the original appears to have been doctored with the smudge/sand/dune overlay discussed by Skipper and on this forum. It makes you feel that you are looking at the landscape through a very dirty/dusty window. It also creates shadows and shapes that seem out of sorts with the surround like the one below. To the best of my knowledge, rocks do not 'grow' like this, there is nothing to explain a shadow of this shape and it looks like something organic like a tree-trunk...but one cannot be sure because of the quality of the image.
In your image below there is something that caught my eye at roughly 2 o'clock but I cannot get the image clarified any further to take a look at it.
A tip to everyone, when you are dowloading images from the official web-sites save them under the image number supplied and you can just supply that when you are presenting the image so that we can follow you. If you feel generous and would like a quicker answer, give us the direct link to the official image.
While we are here, relatively near to the Nautilus Crater, is another small but very serious anomaly. Here again, is an object that just screams "intelligent design". This anomaly is in the lower right of the photo.
It is perfectly cylinderical, looks like a rounded machined head on the left end, a machined space, then a machined ring, then another machined space, and then a small rounded knob on the right end. There does seem to be some kind of design on all of the surfaces. Thas the appearance of some kind of decorative object, maybe made from a marble type stone, but the material cannot be know from the pic. Might be a better word than "machined", for the obvious work done on this anomaly!
As you see, it is in the same general area as the white box anomaly, which is also ringed, and also in the general area of the Reptilian anomaly, which is just a short distance behind this photo, at the Nereus Crater.
I will post a link to the Rover Opportunity Sol day 2010 photo, and I will post a screenshot of the anomaly.
rdunk, are you sure you posted the correct picture? I say this because in the panorama, on the left, there is something which looks far more like a box or coffin than the thing you have circled in the above image ?
Hi qmantoo! Yes, I circled the intended anomaly. It is quite obvious, and stands out as something very different in the pic. Thus far, even though I have reason to think at least some of these places ay be burial sites, I have seen no "coffin boxes". I have seen anomalies that look like "baskets" in several areas, that seemingly may be used in burials.
Yes, the object I think you are referring to does stand out in the pic too, but not sure what it is, if not a rock. When I first saw this early this year, my first thought was, that this object could be the missile, or whatever, that made this crater-looking place.
******* If one looks closely at the overhang, to the left of the "white box", one can just see what looks like the outlines of two steps, for stepping up tp the level of the white box.

Generally we like to have URLs which are from official NASA, JPL, etc websites 'cos then we know that they have not been photoshopped. (haha - yes I know they have there too, but you know what I mean! Official sources.)
Here is another interesting anomaly near the Mars Nereus crater, at the Nautilus crater. I am posting this because Morbius actually posted a pic of this crater, while comenting on the Reptilian at the nearby Nereus Crater.
There is a very distinct anomaly here, that I found in Feb. 2012, and have posted it before, on other forums. But, I don't think I have posted it here. This is one of those "I don't know what its is things", but, "I do know it is something of intelligent design". It is just so very obvious, once one actually sees it.
It is a different looking item in this area of craterous demolition. It appears to be unscathed, even with rocks and debris scattered everywhere, in the Rover photo. In the pictorial view we have, we can see a white-like boxy object with a contoured top, and seemingly contoured deeper base. There is a supported “overhang” projecting from one side, as we can see a shadow under it.
Because of other anomalies in this same area, I will speculate that this small structure may be some sort of burial container box, or small mausoleum - just a guessing thought!!
For everyone, I wil post a screenshot that locates this anomaly, and I will post a link to the full photo also.
