One thing I just noticed in the "horse pic" - - That object in the pic, just to the left of the horse's nose, is pretty much the same color (actually matches) as is the non-shadowed areas of the horse - rather light, with small whiter spots. That object has the appearance of possibly being some kind of "base" anyway, with cut angled feet on what looks like a bottom edge.
Of course "just guessing", but this object could be the base that the horse was originally on, before the explosive happening here at Concepcion"crater.
This stuff sure does get interesting! Of course, no way to know anything for sure, without being there!
Hi goggog! Yes, I did remember we had touched on the "horse" several weeks ago, in the thread link you posted, but we did not give it much detailed discussion. So, since I was posting this horse in another place, I thought I would also give it a more prominent post for everyone here too.
To me, this horse stands out clear as a bell. While the legs are a little different, this piece absolutely looks like a statue of a horse. Very unreal, on the planet of Mars, like are so many other things in the thread that Hong Sung Hak started. His thread is what got many of us looking more at the details of the Rover photos.
A Martian Horse - Does anyone here like horses? Apparently someone in the Martian past liked horses too. There is what looks like a complete horse in the ejecta of Concepcion' Crater. One can see the legs, body, neck, head, and mane. The details of the head include eye, ear, nose, and mouth - a typical looking earthly horse's head. No way to tell if this horse is stone cut, or manufactured. The color of this horse is probably lighter, as shown by the color of the horse's head, neck, and the forward part of its body. The bulk of the horse's body and rear is rather dark, because of sun position and shadows.
The horse is shows to be in a "rearing up" position.
Yes, this is a very odd anomaly. A horse on Mars, no less. One of the few anomalies I would consider even more odd, would be it it were an elephant! One never knows!!!
This is an interesting anomaly! I wil post two screenshots, one of just the horse's head, and the other of the full horse. I will also post a link to the full Rover Opportunity Sol day 2171 photo.
