I downloaded the 250Mb version of a picture and my software blows up trying to open it - which is not really surprising. In the 16Mb version there is still very heavy lowlevel tampering across eveything which obscures all the structures and makes it extremely difficult to isolate anything. I should have known that this would be the case I suppose.
I advise everyone to download the smaller ones first as I do not know if the larger ones of hundreds of Mb and Gb are any better and it will waste a lot of time if they are actually not much better that the far smaller ones.
I've just had a look at the site provided by the link, toggled and started to download the 1.2GB version, but cancelled as it would take too long to download so I settled for the 500MB version.
If you wish to view a particular area of the Moon's surface you will have to input the latitude and longtitude values or alternatively, use the provided viewer to zoom in closer.

Maybe it will all happen naturally? Disclosure I mean.
I had a thought today. Only one thought, but it was BIG.
With so many people doing what we are doing, more and more people will become aware of what is happening.
If NASA gradually (without a big Press Release) release the latest raw photographs then forums and websites like this will use these to point out stuff and convince more people. Gradually as more and more people become aware of the fact that we are not alone, then it will become safe fo us (as a global population) to move into a space in a few years where we start open dialogue with the aliens. Thay way, no-one has to be blamed, no-one is accountable, but the 'job' of disclosure is done by us. But do we really want it???
You only have to have very knowledgable people (on the outside, appearing to be helpful, friendly, etc) pointing out the sites where the new raw images are available and we will do the rest.
Once this process is started, it cannot be stopped but if it has been decided that we need to go that way, then there is no reason to stop it. Rather like a ball rolling downhill, it becomes impossible to stop it but you may be able to guide it to hit your target. Whatever your target is...
This webpage for this image even shows us what is in the shadows (scroll down) !!!
Having said all this, I will now point you to a site which has raw 1.2Gb images. haha I am doing their job for them.
Go to this page and "Toggle Image Details" and you can download the 1.2Gb tif file.
