I am sorry I have taken so long in replying to what is a valid question and advice.
As you all know the forum is going through a transformation at the moment, I still have one or two more changes to make as and when I find the time.
The reason the newest post take priority, is because the majority of members find it easier to keep up with to date with threads and events (it was temporarily reset to offset a troll attack to the site), remember that members can always adjust their personal preference settings to how they want them by clicking on your profile.
It is true none registered viewers can only see the newest posts first, these settings cannot be changed as it is set by the host and not forum administration.
I am glad you all seem to like the changes being made, and thank you for your patience, we have tried to make the site more interesting and easier for you all to use.

I am still curious to know why the 'page view' global adjustment has not been carried out so that visitors to the site who are unable to log on will be able to read a thread from the first post and not the last post. I am sure if the adjustment was made more visitors may be attracted to become members of the forum.

I think you can - click on your logged in name, then in the profile column, click on settings. It appears to be order of topics or order of comments. Anyway, I did it for myself, so it can be done - but you have to be logged in for the forum to know your preferences otherwise all threads show in '"reverse" order.
