STS-75: The Tether Incident

On Sunday, February 25, 1996, the Space Shuttle Columbia deployed an experimental tether into orbit. The experiment was called the Tethered Satellite System (TSS- 1R) and it's purpose of this was to attempt to generate electricity by utilizing Earth's magnetic field.

Unfortunately the tether broke so the experiment was not a success, although approximately five hours of data were recorded.

What really made "The Tether Incident" famous was the appearance of many unidentified flying objects (UFOs) clearly visible in the NASA footage. Conspiracy theorists rejected NASA's explanation of space debris and ice particles, while conspiracy debunkers pointed out that the UFO theory doesn't stack up. For example, if the UFOs were as big as the conspiracy theorists claim, they would have been clearly visible from the ground.

NOTE: The footage above begins with a text title which has been added by someone obviously not from NASA. I do not personally agree with the text, but this is the only version of the footage I have been able to find. The rest of the footage is apparently genuine NASA footage (public domain).

This may be a hint of why humankind has not been able to conquer other planets, not even the moon (though most people think humans landed on the Moon I don't). The space is swarming with creatures ... and they are surely no debris at all.

whatever they were shooting it surely was not conventional antisatellite missile but some kind of energetic weapon. Whatever it was it means that US Government who else?) is at war with alien species that coexist with us in at least upper atmosphere.

That is also interesting movie (oh, Buzz, Buzz, one time he confirms aliens and alien anomalies and this time he is just rubbish). US Government is fighting not only truth about aliens, but also aliens themselves. Question is why?

Don't know the answers to your questions Counter for sure, just a little speculation- according to some investigators, this weapon was fired somewhere from the surface, the Shuttle was over Australia at the time and it may or may not have been fired from there. You know the american military maintain a huge radar base (Pine Gap) near Alice Springs, Northern Territory. I imagine they could track just about anything in orbit or near earth there?

I forgot to mention in Wikipedia article on Pine Gap note the sentence: "The biggest expansion occurred after the end of the Cold War." Now this doesn't make much sense does it? Did they have advanced knowledge of future "war on terror" since the "commies" no longer posed a threat? After all what they do there is allegedly managing and collecting/processing data from military spy and comms sats. Or perhaps more covert ops included tracking and shooting at "unauthorized" alien crafts? And how about the allegedly higher percentage of UFO sightings in Northern Territory compared to other parts of Australia?

Humanoid, thank you for posting those movies, mate, I love those trails drawn behind the objects to show their paths. Somebody has done really good study. Ice Particles my ass. It wonders me who shot those UFO's, why, and what weapon is it, that can reach 350km alt orbit in 1 sec (taking that blast occured on the ground). If that is human weapon trying to destroy alien spacecraft on the orbit, than wtf is it? Are we at war with aliens already? Who is fighting whom and why?

That's an interesting post Counter. Nice to see all the linked evidence put together. I wonder how big they are ? I am sure its impossible to tell as we don't know the distances involved but I would love to have an idea if they were small or large.

I'm posting here what I have posted to my blog recently. It is most probaily known to you all - collection of NASA movies from STS missions with UFOs clearly visible.

Mission STS-63 - Discovery is looking for MIR. Can you help to find it? :)

Mission STS-75 (see also here: STS-75). Mission was experimenting with energy production in ionosphere using tether satellite. Due to high electric current tether (cable) broke and drifted away. How you can see experiment was a very popular space show:

Same movie fasten. Scroll to 4:34. Visible objects change trajectory by slowing down and accelerating again. Objects appear from nowhere. Can you count how many objects is changing direction?:) :

Mission STS-80 - UFOs forming circle with one of them shining in the middle of it, showing themselves up to Columbia space shuttle. We can see, they are intelligent. Why is NASA keeping that in secret?

Mission STS-119 (March 2009). UFO flying all over ISS. Some objects stop and change direction of flight. See 1:05, 3:31 and other!
