I have been looking at this old Moon photo and it seems to me there are so many compression artifacts in it, but...are they? Some 'structures' are nothing like the regular compression artifacts I have seen before in images of off-world places. So, what are they? Maybe they are ice crystals on the window through which the photo was being taken? But they dont look like ice crystals that I have seen on Earth, yet perhaps the space ice crystals dont form in the same way?
I cannot believe they are alien structures actually on the ground, yet there are many structures to be seen which look as if they are streets and communities. The thing is..there is so much of it, and our eyes play tricks on us and see what we want to see. If you took India and placed it over China then you might get something similar in population/community sizes. That is why I think it MUST be compression artifacts of some kind, but you will have to blow up the size to an extreme. Mostly because this is obviously comes from a film camera and not a digital camera and also because the camera is miles away from the Moon which makes huge craters miles across look very small.
It is an old image probably digitised crudely (because I can see much rubbish, hairs, lint, etc on the photo) and which may have introduced some unusual artifacts. Can I have some comments on this image please.
