Lunar Orbiter 3161_med2

This is almost my favourite Lunar Orbiter image because it (original) clearly shows a 'tree-like' structure on the edge of the darkness. This is unexplainable and definitely should not be there. Comments from the skeptics


I have not posted this anomaly for a while, so maybe new eyes visiting the forum will see this classic. I believe there are other parts of this image which need an explanation too. The other circled area has a darker background to the star - dont know what happened there. These anomalies are in the middle of a strip and are not image edge artifacts as far as I can see.
