To me, this looks as if it is a sit-on lawnmower kind-of machine maybe travelling top-left to bottom-right. See how many hyphens I can get in a sentence.
As I have told so many others, these three images are too enlarged and too filled with jpeg artifacts, but after a great deal of processing and looking not much like the orighinal, this sit-on lawnmower is what it looks like to me.
Really, this is such a crappy picture to begin with, not your fault of course, and I can see what you mean about it may look like a man or two or even a starship trooper look-a-like. However, I think you may be correct in that this may be some kind of mechanical structure/machine but I also think that the image is such rubbish that it really could be anything.
It makes me so annoyed when I look at the rubbish we get given by NASA and other space agencies and expected to do science on them. The stuff they suggest we use at the PDS is not much better either. I just cannot spend so much time lookiing at them any more because I get too worked up if I think too much about it.
Actually, I think much of the technology there on Mars has to do with piping stuff from one place to another, so many of the images I think have machinery related to pipes and pumps, and sit at the juction of two runs of pipework. This may be something similar as you would not expect pipework to be actually ON a path but near by one for easy maintenance access.
What would this guy riding a bicycle be doing up there? Maybe he is off to the shop to buy bread?
Is there a path for him to ride on?
Do you think bicycles are the preferred mode of transport?
Has common sense gone out of the window ?
I am as eager to find anomalies as the next person on here, but surely you have to ask yourself some fairly basic questions and see if they have answers which make sense in context.
nighthawk, I've had a look at this image and others from a different sol relating to the object you have highlighted. As far as I can see it is a large rock but it does give one the impression of being "something" that tends to be slightly recognizable. I think the production of a 3D view would maybe show up what it really is. This can be achieved as the PanCam captured a left and right view.
