The image is to the extreme left and lower down on the panorama photo, it is easy to spot.
So far I only studied and scrutinized this panorama (PIA 16454) and the Curiosity rover Sol 177 panorama.
There are a lot of weird things in both panoramas that are worth studying.
To me this carving depicts beings using a mechanical/electro device of some sort, maybe a magnetic resonance lewis used to lighten quarried stone, the secret of how the ancients were able to lift quarried stone block weighing many tons to build the ancient monuments on Earth and on Mars perhaps.
It could have symbolic significance to the initiated as a sort of scene from a Martian Masonic tracing board carved from stone, or it could have been the headstone of a Martian grave or tomb, as there is a hole right in front of this sculpture, where the dismembered corpses of dead Martian beings of a certain guild were laid to rest.
The speculation can be endless with the right imagination.
In spite of the off centre mosaic distraction, I would say the object is mechanical in nature, Thank you Ken for sharing such a very good find that seriously deserves more study (can you please supply a link to the original image when posting your evidence).
