Good to see that people focus on those areas that are among the best disguised by NASA. It is particularly gratifying to break down the illusions that NASA has built on over the years. I agree qmantoo when he says: NASA have not only Compressed but also resized some of that! Images. Yes NASA do this. Also pasting areas into larger synthetic landscapes. This makes the actual sizes shrink and look like chemically tinted soil, in some cases.

The finding of structures on such a small scale is not new. qmantoo and other members know that I have persued this research for years and that a number of threads appear on this forum where reference is made to the same. I am pleased that other members are finding these features as it would appear that NASA is not interested in the finding of very tiny structural artifacts or a tiny-sized civilization as it is not part of their remit.

As a matter of intertest, the high resolution image captured by Curiosity of Mount Sharp is showing some amazing object detail that is more than just geology. I will post an image of what I have found in a new thread  The Bayer effect on the RAW Curiosity images is annoyingbut i think it is being done deliberately. I have tried to find another source for the hi-res colour images that were being posted up to sol #3 but have not had any luck finding anything.

Hi Morbius, That is nice of you to say all that
A lot of to Curiosity images are sent in Bayer format which looks as if they are overlaid with a grid. This is a method of sending colour information but in the case with Curiosity, NASA have not only compressed but also resized some of these images. This makes the result (after de-Bayer-ing the image) apparently have both image artifacts AND strange colour spots on the photo. Hence the green areas we see in some of the hilly and mountainous areas. Of course, there might be green areas in the photos which are natural and which are not as a result of the resizing/compression of the Bayer image, but at least we can bear all this in mind when we see the green blobs of colour around the place.

Yes, there do seem to be a number of different structures in this part of the panorama (particularly the great wall-like structure which appears to have height and also considerable width too ) and I am sure we can find many more in different areas too. I will be doing that in the next few days as I hope you all will.

qmantoo: Your " Opportunity -360 degree panorama finds thriving cities  " is destined to become a classic! No, this is a good report and I know I ramble, but bear with me all. Have enhanced your pics, too lazy to get the " real ones ", these will do just fine. After a brief but intense examination of these, I was amazed at your find. The four attachments are: 1. a full-view overlooking the artificial valley, or artificially reinforced one ( bear with me ). Why so? Look at the surrounding ridges. On what should be a roughly sharp edge ... they however ... are flat. This is not natural. It appears these ridges have been topped by a defensive wall ... like the Great Wall of China, look at the shadows too. The great earth-works rise, then the Wall begins, straight up, over, and down the other side. These all appear part of an overplan, for they are easily seen on the other side of the 'valley' and elsewhere as well. In the right-bottom corner of the pic is seen the end of that particular wall as it winds its way up the hill, past lookout or sentry buildings, on to the top. This is characteristic of a military planner -consolidate and hold the high-ground.It is remindful too of the Great Wall of Iapetus, which is estimated at 60 miles straight up, 60 miles across, and 60 miles down the other side ... and engineered! Complete with a triple roadway on top ( see attached  for comparison to the one on your pic, both badly damaged or eroded), and an amazing assortment of parapets, towers, etc. Admittedly, the mind can not initially grasp the sense of engineering on this scale, yet ... it was done! The 'scientists' however, see this as a collision of two asteroids ( of identical size mind you ) and this formed the Great Wall which perfectly encircles this moon exactly at its equater. This collision must be assumed a very rare event, as it is complete with its unusual geological formations which might appear as towers, roadways and parapets included. I don't know what kinda medication these scientists are taking, but .... I'm gonna get me some! Yeah, I know, you don't need any Morbius, you'r doing just fine! Hoagland considers this wall an artificial construct and compares its walnut-shaped appearance to the Death Star created by George Lucas ... and where did he get this infromation or idea from!?? I stray, sorry. To continue with more exciting news of the same, we arrive at the last pic, which is , qmantoo, your little square area where the amazing City on Mars is located! As for this last pic, here, I believe that all the greenery is just that. Trees, bushes, grass, shrubs, etc. This is interspaced with numerous buildings of many shapes and sizes. But, an outstanding feature, yet quite understandable in this setting, is found in the upper-middle far right, for it is a partially obscured Pyramid, quite clear, with another smaller one, as they are both oriented N/S and E/W, in the lower front of the pic. These appear quite massive, stepped, and more angled than the usual Egyptian, but more as Maya Pyramids appear, such as at Tikal or Palenque. By extension then, we need wonder if these be star-oriened, and, or for such as human sacrifice. Quite a pic indeed qmantoo ,and a good find too!  -Morbius
