goggog, hello again. I would direct you here to a query by Bud Spencer as to the picture source as the answer would be the same. Meant to attach the pic with Spencer's reply but will do so here, as noted this one is from the Washington Post, but probably Bud will note this to
as these posts should be close together. -Morbius
Hi! I already saw this district - like anything remarkable
Bud, I did not mention any magazines, but news/paper sources that display on the Internet. That is where I ( and you can to ) spotted the photos, downloaded, analyzed, processed and ( finally \) posted. Not only do you not " read the magazines you mentioned ", but the reply. My friend, slow down read carefully .. then reply. This is not meant to be a 'down' message , but an 'up' one. You are AA, and deserve to get friendly advice. There is always room for improvement on the road to becoming the person you should want to be. Wishing you the best
-Morbius
ps: If I didn't consider you a worthwhile human being I would not have bothered offering you a mild but correcting reply. Think on that, as people still care

Hello Bud Spence, in answer to your inquiry it appears none ( of these early pics ) are yet classifed even by NASA. It would seem in the heat of their victorious landing and press releases they are recieving hundreds of pics back from Curiosities 17 cameras and are behind scedule so far on evaluating and catalog numbering them. I may be wrong, but those I grab and download are the same. The particular photo here ( original attached ) was from the Internet. The Net is packed with this latest sensation as you can see it displayed on Wired Service, CTV News, SciTech, the National Post and on and on. I just downloaded one from the Washington Post and processed it for AA to consider. Sorry not to be any clearer but thats about what seems to be happening at this early and exuberent stage of the Curiosity Saga on Mars.
Macten, your welcome and deserve to be backed up .. because your right. Am attaching some previously unreleased studies of the , as you put it " structures on the Rise before the next plain" ( you are right there also ). Unfortunately I agree there will be many more junked pictures from the NASA Curiosity " collection " before this is over. As to the efforts to bequeath a legacy in stone .. yes .. that is the way of it, from the smallest carving to the Great Pyramid here ( and 'elsewhere'). All are meant as reminers and lesson books of those who have gone before, who they were, the heights they had achieved, their beliefs and ideas of beauty. So we may confidently look for these evidences which should , properly arranged and interpreted, tell some amazing stories of those bygone ages and people. Finally, here, I have not forgotten your request Macten. Its on the list and will get back on it soonest.
Bud: As mentioned to goggog, this particular pic is another special edition, freedom of infromation requests come back about the same. Look for a pretty clear pic and go with it . |They process hundreds of thousands over the years and although the multiplicity of choices can have a bewildering effect on the mind be persistent and detailed in your searches .... something will always slip through and show up like a nugget in a gold mine ... but ya gotta be persistent to some degree. I expect many future Curiosity downloads are going to be write offs but who cares ... remember there's still 'gold in them there hills'.
geomeo, thanks for a ramble down memory lane ... a great little Disney production, lots of work went into those earlier pics, Snow White was drawn entirely frame by frame .. unbelievable! The Mars Disneys crew presented is not only a lot of fun but an equally thoughtful premonition of a possible future. And then of course there's Mr. Paperclip himself .. Von Braun .. avery unique and peculiar man indeed. Thanks geomeo
goggog: this particular picture is another classic case of special editing, and, after a preliminary view would advise to go with the photos that show reasonable detail and believability ( unaltered in great measure ). These are known on occasion to let slip some tantilizing but workable detail. Will post one such example to-night if time permits. Let your intuition help you look ... the more you exercise it the stronger and more acurate you become!
Thank you for that study. Looks like structures on the Rise before the next plain. It appears that there are going to be more and more reports on this as Curiosity has landed in a fairly Hot zone if you look at the MRO photos. It will be exceedingly more and more difficult for the team to mask civilization evidence that has not been destroyed as in the case of the Spirit and Opportunity rovers. One of the first signs of a civilization (ancient) is stone carvings. And there are plenty of those in the rover pics.allmost all somewhat destroyed.
I would like your opinion on one of the first carvings I believe I have seen in Curiosity's Pics.
Pic 1 shows blast damage and a layer of crust with certain objects scattered around it.
Pic 2 is a crop showing detail of the object I believe is a carving.
Pay particular attention to the shape of the eye and the nose area. Very detailed IMHO. I have been looking at these type of pics for a long time (months) and I hope I am not just seeing things that arent there.
Curiosity is sending back pics and have attached a study set of one entitled The Mohave Desert of Mars at Gale Crater . Here, we need appreciate the pioneering work of such as J.P. Skipper that enables us to approach these photos with an awareness of the special-editing or ' obfuscation ' that these photos continue to be subject to. I suspect Skipper would concur there has been no exception to this particular picture as well. The second attachment here ( Curiosity II ) begins to break through these obfuscations, and is followed through with ( Curiosity III ) a pic that is admittedly at the present limit of available contrast resolution protocols. There is something even more astounding found here, in this desert scene sent back by Curiosity, which will need more work before being sent on to post. The analysis, results, conjectures here are my own simple opinion and the viewer is welcome to develop and forward on their replies to this enigmatic beginning of the Curiosity Saga on Mars.
