All around us we see signs of high civilisations, earth has its own monoliths from a time when visitors came to earth, as does the Moon, 'Mars'.

It is agreed by mainstream science that Mars and the solar system is indeed coming out of an ice age, but opinion instead of facts speculate the time lines and intensity of the warming, high resolution orbital images show that all across the northern hemisphere of Mars there are signs of surface Ice movement across its surface, movement that can be measured..... Water on Mars

My opinion (with present evidence)  is that Mars was fertile in the distant past, it had a denser atmosphere and active biosphere, water covered the surface and judging from the fossil evidence that have been shared by the community, it was also teaming with life.

I have no doubt life still has a foothold on Mars, Skippers Biological life evidence shows this nicely, there is evidence also of engineering and design littering the ground, civilisation evidence showing massive structures have been discovered, some lay partially or completely covered with the dust that moves around the planet, and some that show recent use.

As Chandre relays too, we are coming out of our own ice age, as our glaciers are becoming extinct and as our permafrost is changing, we see evidence of preserved life that has not been seen for over 10,000 years,  the same must be happening on Mars too (but at a much changed rate), lets not forget that Mars cannot warm properly until there are enough gasses in the atmosphere to trap the heat needed to accelerate the planets warming, methane has been detected which could be from Martian permafrost thawing, the same thing is happening on earth, as our permafrost melts it releases methane (left over form ancient biology), or could simply be life evolving as an emerging water cycle begins.

For artefacts to be intact as we are finding them, then they must be very recent, or they are only now being exposed after being buried by the dry soils and sediments (which may be hundreds of thousands of years old) which would put the high civilisation that created the artefacts at about or over half a million years ago (about the same time mankind began evolving), if these artefacts are recent, then we are looking at a scene of devastation so complete that little remains of what created them.

Of course there is also the familiarity of the objects we have discovered in the Martian images, some so similar to finds on earth that the connection with our past is obvious. of course it could just be the dumping ground used by ET after visiting us (or of course the images we have are not real).

Iceman, you raise a valid point. If all planets in the Solar System are currently experiencing global warming (as we have previously discussed on the forums and is widely discussed on the web) then it make sense that if the rovers are travelling over areas with frozen water/ice and that ice is melting it may be exposing remnants of organic matter that has been preserved in the ice for countless years.

Below is an image of the wooly mammoth found in Siberia. Look at the remarkable state of preservation, after 10 000 years ! Now, if Mars experienced similar flooding and the loss of atmosphere froze everything almost immediately (a la Day After) why may we not see similar things when the ice thaws to what we find on Earth ? Food for thought...

When images from Mars are studied, many questions arise. Here are some samples.
