These is interesting research. I am definitely in. Subjective as the perceptions are...At some point is there is no denying the physical symmetry of a face..eye orbs, cheek bone and other facial structures.. or the geometric angles of construction ,including perfect arcs ..Mysterious Mars...These are great...

Wow, look at that!  The forms are very much like we originally perceived them to be!

The link to the image in PDS format that was posted earlier by me ("http://hrscview.fu-berlin.de/cgi-bin/ion-p?page=product.ion&image=2041_0000") now is not available, (I regret that I wrote them and asked a few questions)

but here another link for those who are interested:

http://pds-geosciences.wustl.edu/mex/mex-m-hrsc-5-refdr-dtm-v1/mexhrs_2001/data/2041/   (they are not erased until)

I have maked target suggestion on (http://www.uahirise.org/hiwish/view/66936) So in the absolute best case, it is a matter of months maybe when we be able to see this place with best "hirise"-resolution, if suggestion will be considered somewhen.confuse

Thanks Marsrocks, for the slower images. The quick ones give me a headache, lol. It takes my old eyes a second or two longer to focus! Great work, by the way.

Looks like a water tower near the building, without  signs of destruction.

These objects look almost like buildings. The large block to the left looks to have a rectangular opening. The block to our right (also pointed out by polluks) seems to be smoother than the surrounding rock, and appears to be sticking out of the landscape by itself on on a pyramidal base, with an overview of the surrounding landscape.

This is at 250 - but the effect is somewhat lost on my browser when slowed down that much:

Let me know how this speed looks on your browsers - this is slower - but still looks okay on my browser:

This sector continues to surprise, even without the so-called "statue". To my regret, I can not so well improve the quality of image.confuse I think, that picture reveals some details(upon closer contemplation) can be considered as evidence of civilization:

marks in red

Take a look at this comparison between the Google Earth image (which originates from the ESA/HRSC image) and the CTX image:

(There are anomalous looking things in this area):

Now, I am thrown into a state of “cognitive dissonance”confuse.  This happened after viewing HRSC image 2041_0000 (Resolution,m/pix= 12.5 ;Dimension, pix= 4896x50960) in PDS format,  from:

http://hrscview.fu-berlin.de/cgi-bin/ion-p?page=product.ion&image=2041_0000

As you can see in the center of the image an object is present, that looks like a "man with a beard". Now it is not clear what is true smile

(I apologize for the bad image quality, but i can't make it better.)

It's amazing. That's what mean high-quality picture, and before this image I could not see them.
Maybe it's just a game of my imagination, but it seems these objects also of artificial origin, something like the remnants of sculptures:

You're welcome.  I'm trying to stay away from faces - but I can never resist.

Take a look at this near sculptural quality face in the scene with your object:

Thank you very much! That's exactly what I was looking for. Now I convinced that this is fake. Too good to be true.

Use the jpeg2000 version for full resolution:

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but could someone tell where to get more quality shots of this statue or sector on Mars:

1°38'49.04"S 94°58'1.83"E  in Google Mars

(Latitude: -1.64° Longitude: 94.97°)
