The image number is lg_9960 - sol 039 (Phoenix misssion).
The anomaly has a very unusual form. The shape of the object seems to be completely out-of-place with the rocks and other features in the surrounding environment. It is suspected that the object may be constructed of some form of metallic material. Two vertical stumps or protrusions can be observed which are connected to the top of the main body, the purpose of which is unknown. There is also something attached to the center of the object.
I will attempt to produce an improved image to achieve a better analysis.

i see the pearls, two of them very clear : in all the rest of the image u can see these fragments of stone, but those u have pointed to seem to have a strange position, one of them seem to be on the top of the rock encircled.
i really cannot catch how to read this image : at the end, i believe it could be a fragment of rock with a sort of cavity inside, if u rotate the image u should notice this possibility to become more clear.
There appear to be 3x 'pearls' along the top left surface, the two left-most ones are not very easy to see. However, the whole image is very contrasty and I have a feeling that we maybe on the verge of creating things if we turn the contrast up any more. There must be Phoenix images in the pds aren't there? Maybe we can have a look in there for a better more balanced view perhaps. Yes, it does look to be something strange in that scene.
very strange object. i have the impression of a shape similar to an arrow, im curious to know if u have the same impression. of course it seems an "out-of-place" object respect to the rest of image.
u may find similar object into a thread named "V shaped things" if i remember well. ( i found time ago a triangle shaped object long about 2 km that can have some similarities with ur find, except thte dimension obviously ).
but i repeat, my impression is of a triangle shaped "thing", dont know if its only a joke of shadows to give me this impression, so i could be out of way.
Sifting through some of the images of the Phoenix mission I came across this anomaly captured during sol 039. On the downloaded 2048 image it can hardly be seen but after some adjustments to the image the shape of the object became more clear. Two images are shown, the main image with object circled and a sectional crop.
Has anyone seen an object like this before?
I ask as I have seen a similar anomaly in another image somewhere but unfortunately I cannot find any reference to it.
