Yes, I definitely do not like the wider screens and I have a more squarer(?) screen.
The problem as I see it is that wide images push the text of subsequent posts off our screens(for those of us who have the squarer screens) and scrolling is a bit of a pain... Apart from that, the larger images take longer to load too so anyone with a slower connection has to wait until all the images in the thread have loaded before they can see the last post completely.
I think it could only be a general guideline anyway because you cannot force people to limit the size of their images, only request it (as far as I know).
When images are posted on the forum should a maximum size be considered. Some viewers still have monitor screens with a 4:3 aspect ratio and I suspect that some of the images posted exceed the screen width.
What are your views in this respect?
