I can see how the left and right rover wheels could overlap each other. OBrien made the point in another thread that the left wheels could make marks as the rover was travelling to the right and then the left wheels come along and make marks going to the left which either overlap or not as the case may be...This might account for some of the strange rover marks we see and it is an explanation I accepted from one thread where he explained it to me where there was a unmarked piece of ground between two.
Footprints: It appears to be true, I cannot see any other further footprints going left/right - I wonder where they have gone to... (I am good at 'wondering')
I can't seem to find anything about the boots being weighted...so when they hopped it stands to reason they must have tipped forward as the upper parts of the body would have weighed more than the bottem half and 1/6 gravity is still gravity...isn't it ? The boots must have been weighted, but why can't we see it in the X-ray ?
How much would the boots have to be weighted to make a difference? If you require that the astronaut's lower half weight has to equal upper half weight, the boots would have to weigh as much as the PLSS. That would be about 57 pounds. That doesn't sound right.
Even in 1/6th gravity the mass would still be the same. Dangle your leg over a ledge and put a 28.5 pound ankle weight on. Now move it side to side and backwards and forwards. I wouldn't want to walk anywhere with one of those on each ankle.
Besides, I hike with a backpack of about that weight. I don't constantly tip over.
Apparantly the moon has 1/6 the gravity of Earth and the suits were rigid assisting the astronauts to stay upright. Bending was difficult so was walking so tools were designed for samples to be taken standing up and hopping was easier than walking.... except they were able to sit in the Lunar 'buggy' ?

I've just noticed something else strange about the boots. The image and the X-rays appear to show that they are made out of plastic, very little metal.....surely they should be weighted to keep the astronauts feet on the ground in low gravity otherwise the head would be the heaviest part of the body and they would keep on tipping forward. I don't know a lot of physics, so maybe someone can explain why there is no weights in them ?
Frustrating isn't it, as far as I would imagine the Hi-res should be a much better quality but that is definitely not the case. It was actually the 'machine' image that clearly indicates this better Image AS12-47-7014. The detail in the lo-res is much clearer than in the hi-res. In fact the hi-res has some serious tampering to make the anomaly appear as though it is part of the astronauts boot prints. Now this is absolutely ridiculous for the simple reason that the boots they were wearing could not possibly make those imprints (unless someone else with different boots was there as well). I'm no forensic scientist but I do watch CSI and a certain sole can only make a certain print. Below is an image of the boot soles of the boots used on all the Apollo missions and an image of the prints these made on the moon. Compare these with the smaller, rounded prints of the tampering and VOILA you have a 'smoking gun'

My point....nowhere in these images does the boot taper in in the same way as the one Mr Bean is holding up ! The boot design that was apparantly used on all of the Apollo Missions was a simple elongated oval shape with 9 ridges.
I invite you to zoom in and look more closely at the supposed prints in the Hi-res and then look at the examples above and you will see my point (I hope)...
