At least, maybe this could be a confirmation for the presence of water.  And "polluks anomaly" as definition of this sinkhole is very funny and can be used like indication for the effect of optical illusion.smile

Initially, it appears to be a really good anomaly find because we have what appears to be a well defined solid object out in the middle of nowhere with nothing else that looks like it at all.

The trench here looks like a rock - because of reverse contour effects in our brain produced by too much brightness at one end of the depression, and it is right in the middle of a flat area without a lot of visual cues to get your contour bearings.

Sometimes you have to force your eyes to see the main area of the landscape as top and the middle of what seems like a solid object as the bottom - telling yourself this is a depression and not a raised object.

(Great job finding that CTX image).

This look at the larger area shows you that we have one visual cue at a pretty large distance away - in the upper right hand corner of the image we see a smaller trench - which we know to interpret in our minds as a depression:

I don't know what causes this type of depression in the ground to occur. One possible geological explanation is a collapsed lava tube - but I can't confirm that is what has happened here.

Here is an example of a trench that is easier to see because it is next to raised mounds, giving better visual cues to interpret the rise and fall of the landscape:

Hi polluks,

IMHO I think you will find that this is not a rock , but a 4km chasm/pit, there are many collapsed features on the surface of Mars (many with signs of liquid flow on their walls), unfortunately I cannot find the name of this pit so for now I have named it the polluks anomaly.

Impressed by the Mars Face? The Badlands Guardian, as the above geomorphological feature is called, is much closer to home though one still needs to view it from a fair ways above.

Located near the city of Medicine Hat in southeastern Alberta, Canada, this natural silt formation appears to be a proud Native Canadian chief who’s tuning into the modern age via the use of headphones – actually an oil well and the access road leading to/from it.

Frutty, Thank you for your interest in Icelandic but I can not point you in anything that is useful only to study the issue in a systematic way. Iceland is indeed extremely difficult languages both pronunciation and grammar are hard to learn for foreigner as Icelanders as well.

All are part of the Assassin's empire excavations maneuvers, that took place between 1935 and 1937.  The first one you thought was the moon, in fact is what translated to English would be "Solomon's Temple/Throne". The original photographs rest in a  Chicago Institution for Oriental Studies

Fruit.. Heard of Keith Lanley? He wrote a paper on lunar anomalies (will get link tonight) Been meaning to let you know. Your images and mine are there. Thats the true source. He used them as examples of ancient structures on earth compared with the moon and Mars. Image below is definitely earth, Where? I'll ask him when I next on his forum. Lets just say hes a lion among anomaly hunters . You can trust him on facts, images, etc.  Image below definitely earth!

Don't know if anybody have noticed so far but the landscape of the Assassin's empire, is very much like the one we see on Mars, of course the pics of the assassins empire, taken on 1937, are better quality than what we can see on the XXI century publicly released pictures form Mars confuse

I've read that in islandic, Hvítserkur means white shirt, because of the massive dove droppings. Can you recommend a good tutorial on basic Icelandic and pronunciation ? Thanks smile

This is what us humans do with our heritage the original  Takht-e Soleymān  temple has been remodeled to hide the blasphemous monuments that once could have given us clues about our ancient ancestors. Also notice the monumentsonly make sense from the air, that means whoever (sassenians) built those should have a cosmic origin

In my opinion after studying the photographs of Takht-e Soleymān there's an area that is being censored even today.

Here is what my take is on the temple if you study the uncensored area you will soon realize what it all comes down to furious. And probably the wars with the middle East too.

Watcher apparently, they where right, it is located in IRAN (or what is left of it) It's called Takht-e Soleymān

This is a snapshot of the brochure given to visitors at Takht-e Soleyman. This ancient Sassanian site is breathtaking and highly spiritual and simple photographs cannot capture its impact. I think this grand view from the air helps one to understand the scope of this Unesco World Heritage site.

Oh by the way it has a high level of tampering on all levels.  i have a similar image 
Id risk my neck and say its real .. Im pretty sure..   The tamperings the key..  It mat also be a composit but a dam good one if it is as there are ways to detect the splices.
