It does look artificial and it is not photo shopped. I am not the least bit interested if that symbol means anything to you or anyone else, as a living being you choose your own destiny, beliefs and non beliefs.
I am interested in what made that symbol. It is an excellent directional marker (the irony of that isn't lost to me, though I doubt it means hot or cold, though who knows).
So a good analysis of the image is called for, in my opinion, although I did expect some out cries because it wasn't a less intimidating formation, although there is also the carving of pi, along with it, the meaning of that, useless also.
I was impressed when I saw the image and I still am. The fact that it is a cross doesn't upset me one bit either. B'

The cross is a symbol that is found throughout Mars. In Cydonia there are several crosses. Symbols that might be considered demonic also show in Cydonia and other regions.

I think this is a very interesting subject worthy of more analysis. The only downside is that our minds cannot currently fathom the mystery of the connections between far away planets and our ancient ancestors.
