The problem being that 'eyes' could be something else. I think what I need to do sometime is to find 4 or more pictures of worms and see if they all had 'eyes' in the same place and if their mouth was also in the 'right place' for a mouth. However, I do believe that sci-fi has far more truth in it than we all think, and the images of the giant worms in something that I once watched ages ago, has stuck with me ever since. Maybe we consider how we can approach this from another angle and gather evidence from rover pictures? Not necessarily pictures of huge worms but maybe holes, or earthworks or something else. I suppose the "snakes" we have seen in images could be smaller relatives of worms perhaps?

Maybe, Chandre... but if you look very close you can see eyes most of the time...wink

Also thank you frutty, iceman and qmantoo for your take and input on this.

Also, if you look closely, the opportunity worm image has a worm with a very discrnable  eye, and also has the two "things" sticking out from its side near the mouth opening, as in the Spirit images below...

OK, I'm speculating again...

Do you think the bits coming out the mouths could possibly be machinery of some sort. Could they be using mechanised devices to do what they are busy working on ? I hark back to an image that I posted where I thought the worms were wearing something like 'collars' pictured in red and the yellow bit seemed to be machine linked to the worm by coils confuse

Although I have found 'craters' on the moon where I believe something has bored or tunnelled down into the ground to make the craters, I still cannot 'see' these worms that you are all talking about - let alone the 'things' in their mouths or 6 dfferent types.

I will obviously have to look more carefully at the pictures and see if I can see them for myself. I convinced myself of colonies of tiny people this way smile.gif

AR, wouldn't it be nice if you write a book about the types of worms? Something like "Types of Martian Worms: a detailed study".

 

With your talent and dedication I think it would be a best seller! wink

Hi everyone,
I have another image this time from Opportunity Rover. Sol 618. Pancam.


I think these are a new type of worm, making them a Type 6 I believe.

The image from Spirit Pan 620 seen below, is of the Type 1.

This image is of Type 6.  The mouth opening is larger and opens differently than the other types. However the dark object like most of the other worm types have, is still present in this Type 6 worm... coming out of it's mouth as usual.

Yes you are right, and everything that looks artificial. Although on Google Mars they are already showing things we would not have imagined. I think the censorship is coming apart at the seams aww

Thanks for your cool image and also your support in the worm theory...biggrin

Also, did you see that to the left mouth opening on both worms, there is an apparent "something dark" coming out of the mouths... I find this in most Martian worms.

I have also recently found a very good Opportunity rover worm image, of course disguised as "dune" material. I will post it soon...

Keep looking in the "dunes".  I think that their software detects certain lifeform species which it then in turn applies the appropriate "cover" over the lifeforms disguising them as either rocks or dunes.  Finding "rocks" that are very similar is a clue that most likely it's a lifeform...

ARp2 be careful when examining the dunes. They are the highest species and most powerful beings on Mars sprint.gif.

I have also been with you in your theory of the worms except for one pic that I could not understand a long time ago.

Here are two more images of Martian worms by Spirit Rover...  I bet that you can find several of these by checking supposed "sand dunes" and equalizing the image or just sharpening and adjusting the contrast a bit.  What is interesting here is that both worms are different but similar. Both mouths are open to the left of the image with a darker part coming out of the lighter covering.  The covering is different, with the first worm being, or at least showing shine to the "skin" and a kind of crease on top.
The second worm has more of the zig zag pattern previously mentioned in Mars worms.  The next similarity is that next to the mouth openings in both worms are two strange objects on the ground.  Both worms have these...
