True, the area seems to be  damaged metal. I always get tripped up by objects that look like eyes, the forward looking predator type

by coincidence i was looking over some Mars landscapes today and saved ;

McMurdo_Merged_Cyl_L456atc.jpg (22348×6324)

but the interesting issue is that i read this as a large sand worm home/hole with the animal emerging.

as usual i tend to see organic as opposed to structural.

Not far from the object which I believe to be alien, is something that fits well with the idea, rounded thing. let's look more closely at this... Pictures say more than words, so do something about this. I'm going to copy the left half and put them together as a left-right side of the object.

I see the backbone too (although I think it extends much further), it seems to have a skull attached, and there appears to be other skulls and anomalies surrounding it, but the whole image seems to of been manipulated (and copied) to hide or distract many features.

Very good find goggog,  I think I will label this image the "Bone Pile"

poluks, you've got a very interesting geometric form in the lower left - a rectangle with two holes in it.  Also the vug on the lower right is interesting to me.

What is your link on that - is this sol 561 from the pan?
