It looks like its just sittin on another rock to me...

The "pipe" looks as though there are cracks in it...which...to me....suggests another rock...

int the image posted by gogog, to the right of the stone there is something resembling an inscription or i'm having visons ?
i see into the soil a rectangular border with inside 2 symbols very similar to the " p greek"...

Chandre: It could be, but if there are no rover tracks it probably is not. The two photograph links in the first post were taken on the 29th Apr & early May, so we know the rover had rolled over it (whatever it is) by those dates.

Looking at your link to the photo, there appears to be too many other stones and things in the area and the rover tracks are missing. Same site though.

This photograph 2P297618222EFFB1DQP2294L7M1 is version 1 of a photograph produced for M - MIPL (OPGS) at JPL on Sun, 7 Jun 2009 03:42 (Sol 1928).
It was taken with the PANCAM, through the Left camera, using a 432nm (32nm Short-pass) (violet) filter on the Mars Rover Spirit.

It is a full frame EDR picture which is raw, is NOT liniarised, and is NOT thumbnail sized

The picture was taken at site number B1 on drive number DQ, and the command sequence number P2294 to take the picture was instructed by PMA & Remote Sensing instr. (Pancam, Navcam, Hazcam, MI, Mini-TES) and belongs to the group 2000 through 2899 - Pancam sequences

It was also taken at site B1 and may give a clearer view of the outcrop ?

or a martian trap door spider.

i don't know but i been up since 4am, it's now 10pm but ggogs close up looks like a head with a left fang.

the pic link looks even more organic.

we have tube worms at the bottom of the ocean in thermal vents, life is tenacious and amazingly creative.

the v-shaped thing i noticed too.

will have to look closer.

This is a strange one. The round grey thing that Spirit Rover has just gone over located at the top centre of this picture (I might have flipped the image, I cannot remember)

looks as if it is on the top of a pipe or man-hole or entrance to something. There is obviously a circular pipe part and then the cover on top, but I do not think it is as simple as that because this 2N295393296EFFB1DNP1900R0M2.JPG is a closer view of it. There are tamperings all around the area and the V-shaped rock half-way up, slightly right of centre does not look like a rock to me.

There are quite a number of different perspectives if you search for site B1 with NAVCAM and it seems that the Spirit was there at that site for at least 9 sols.
