Thank you Timewarp, there seems to be other smaller shells spread across the rock (although not so obvious), the question now is how old could these fossils be?

Just to give everyone a little bit of a prespective on what a slab of fossilized rock looks like I'd like to submit a few photos of a slab I own.
The slab is Lexington Limestone and has been dated to the Ordocvician age of 500 million years old. It contains Trilobites, Pelecypods, Gastropods, Cephalopods and Brachiopods.
You will notice that some of these fossils seem to resemble quite a few of the so called rocks viewed in a lot of Mars photos. Like the delta winged anomolies.
I hope these photos will open doors for those searching the Mars photos...Thanks
