RE: My resignation as a Moderator

The past month has been challenging. It has necessitated that the moderators step back and reassess their role and goals in being part of the Forum. A lot of discussion has taken place back stage and we are finally ready to move forward. Xenon will be posting details of the new 'Guidelines for Posting' as well as an idea of the vision for the Forum going forward. Our relationship on the bridge was challenged by our differences in perception, but in the end we are a hell of a team offering a unique opportunity to Seekers and a community that cannot be allowed to be threatened.

I am pleased to state, that in the manner of a true democracy, our differences were resolved with negotiation and compromises on all sides and I will be staying on as a Moderator.

Your team is now focussed and more determined than ever to make this Forum the success it deserves. Members will be required to compromise as well in certain ways but will be free to express themselves and their finds as before.

I would like to share something I have written which explains why I am here and what my goals are. Perhaps members can add to this by explaining why they are here and we will be able to understand each other a little bit better and perhaps dissolve some of the tensions caused by misperceptions and language barriers.

My journey to this point started much like most journeys do, with curiosity.

A curiosity about ancient civilisations and possible civilisations on other planets fuelled from a young age by the very best Science Fiction writers and extensive travels to exotic lands where I was exposed to the remnants of past cities and the civilisations associated with them.

This curiosity never faded, it has fuelled most of my passions in life. I was fortunate to be born in an age fascinated with space and the infinite possibilities it offered. I watched the first moon landing as a young child and dreamed of one day being able to stand on the Moon or Mars.

NASA sold us the dream of space, but in reality they never delivered on those early promises.

I have wandered and wondered at the worlds created by my favourite writers, believing anything was possible in this infinite universe we are a part of.  The concept of far-flung worlds and what may inhabit them has been a reality for me most of my life. I am not a sceptic, I do not need proof to believe. In my heart I know that we are not alone.

My path as a Seeker started two years ago with the discovery of Skippers site. The possibility of having access to images and being able to find anomalies had never occurred to me before that moment. I was hooked, I started looking at everything I could find and was stunned when I started to see my own anomalies.

A year ago, Xenon invited us to join the Alien Anomalies Forum and for the first time I realised I was not alone. There were other Seekers out there and here was a unique opportunity to showcase what we had found and discuss it with others like myself. The Forum has been an essential part of my personal growth as a Seeker and part of why I find myself at a cross-roads now.

I believe that this Forum is critical at this time. It is the only place of its kind where Seekers can gather and display their own finds and discuss it with other Seekers. There are different personalities and different interests and the unifying thing is that we drive each other to excel, to improve how we display our work and the quality and integrity of what we post. Members share their experience, guidance is given to new-comers and after time the quality improves. This is part of a healthy and natural growth of a new type of investigative ‘science’ that is testing the norm we have been conditioned to accept.

There are trolls, there are different interest groups and there are strong personalities. All of these are essential components necessary to the personal growth of a Seeker. We need controversy and we need to be challenged to attain the heights we must to open the paths for the ones that will follow.

So what if we do not see what another person sees or agree with what they post, either you enter into discussion on it and open yourself to the possibility of a paradigm change, or you skip the post and move to the next one.

So what if another poster uses different  techniques to yours and reaches a different conclusion. There is so much tampering on these images who can say what is real or not.

So what if the posts get a bit out-there at times, sometimes you need to go to the very edges of reason and examine the impossible to understand what may well be possible. If you don’t like it don’t read it, move on to the next post but respect the other members rights to continue their train of thought until the conclusion without you being disruptive. If you disagree or feel the need to be critical do it constructively. Explain why you feel the way you do, then allow yourselves the right to disagree.

Kahlil Gibran once wrote something I find inspirational, he said that every hundred years Jesus Christ and Jesus of Nazareth meet and converse and at the end of their discussions Jesus of Nazareth says ‘My friend, I am afraid we will never agree’. Why do I quote this, because like us they are on the same side.

Another saying is that the ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’. This is true for us too. We can have no enemies in our own camp, anyone fighting for disclosure and freedom of access to information is our friend, even if we do not agree with them or accept their methods. We are all on the same side of the prison fence, the inside...where we are trapped and being kept from reaching our freedoms.

The freedoms of thought, speech and action.

If we were to deny our members these basic freedoms we would be no better than the people we are fighting against to gain these freedoms.

Why am I here ?

The answer is really simple. I am looking for proof of ancient and extra-terrestrial civilisations. I am not really interested in fauna, flora or geology of other planets. To be honest, I would happily watch a National Geographic program about what they may find on other planets but my curiosity is focussed on civilisation evidence.

Each of us has our own reason and focus for being here, they differ but our goals are the same. To try to insure that what we find is saved in a place that other future potential Seekers may be able to find it if they follow the same paths to this point. We are not here to judge what is or is not true or possible, we are not able to do that. We are blazing a trail for others to follow. At a stage, disclosure will happen and then there will be people looking for answers and they will end up here, at this site, reading the work we have posted here, realising that we are just normal people that believed in what we were doing, and maybe, just maybe, they will take some comfort from that and be inspired to become Seekers themselves.

I have posted this on Skippers Guest Book, so its just a heads up if you do not read that ...

Chandre says:
I think I have made my feelings on the matter very clear on the Forum. I, personally, do not agree with censorship if the posts are not harming the thread. I believe in freedom of thought, speech and action even if that may lead to somewhat 'out there' discussions. We have no way of knowing exactly what we are looking at due to tampering and inferior quality of images so anything is possible. My personal views and those of the other staff differ on this issue and I have resigned as a moderator. I offer my heart-felt apologies to members that may feel betrayed by this decision, but I know you will respect my values and the motivation behind it. I am away for a few weeks and will not be posting and I will take this time to make a decision regarding my future path. My best wishes to Xenon and his team on their decision and on the difficult path forward in trying to reorganise the Forum, I know it is almost impossible to please everybody.30_angel.gif
