I seem to be starting rather a lot of posts lately, so this will be the last one for a while.
Looking at this picture ( from 4071-h3) I have this theory that appears to hold true across the Lunar Orbiter pictures but not necessarily with the Clementine ones - I have not studied those too much.
The theory is this - that something on the moon produces some spider-cobweb kind of substance.
Radical idea and unlikely perhaps? Remember Babylon 5? Why shouldn't we be dealing with a spider-based race rather than a human-based race? One kind of being is equally likely as another - particularly if you accept that there are aliens and they come from somewhere else, they do not have to look like humans.
This spider web material may be to hide things as in camoflage, to make the outline softer and not so easy to see. In this picture I can imagine that I see the cobwebs hanging all over this crater and in other photographs there is this kind of white stuff making the definition very poor. Now, I do not know if it is something that gets added to these pictures afterwards, you will have to make your own mind up about that according to your beliefs.
