You bring up an interesting point gmantoo... I always expect to see stars in the images and am very frustrated when there are none. The more you work with 'their' lunar images the more you suspect that the backgrounds (i.e hill, craters, sky) are ALL faked. There are definite lines in the images where these false backgrounds are inserted as well as tampering in the foreground as well.
If we can take an image of the night sky over a city on Earth and you can see the stars.....then WHY can we not see the stars in the Moon images....
Personally I believe its because you would see a LOT MORE than the stars in that sky
I know that the accepted reason for not being able to show stars in the background is that the exposure will not show any if the foreground is correctly exposed. However the lunar orbiter photographs had stars in them. That was using old technology and now, using supposed new technology we have been denied the sky. The modern ones (including the Japanese ones) do not show anything in the sky. Even if the foreground is dark or bright washed out, they still do not how any stars I wonder why?
When did we start to accept that we would not see any stars in the background? There must have been a point that 'they' thought that there were too many 'interesting' things showing up there perhaps.
