Hi ARP2, Why don't you try the way I do it using Windows Pictures. I open my image as usual and then I use the crop option just to show the bit I want to highlight. Once I have the crop I use the resize option to make the image larger until I am happy with it (normally 150 to 200% larger), then I save it as whatever the image number is plus I add -crop at the end and then I post it. When you close the image it will ask you if you want to save changes, don't as that then changes your original image as well. I have changed one of your images just to show you the end effect....
BTW...some great geometric anomalies there I will check the originals when I have a chance ...
and I discovered that it had been flipped both vertically and horizontally.... and much more grain was applied!!!
Some time ago I have started mirroring all major websites with stuff of our interest. It takes a lot of time and space to download website like the one with all mars rovers images :) but patience is the key... :) Right now I am downloading Arizona State University website, I wonder how much it is going to take :)
But how would I make a URL (whatever that is) to put in the URL box? and the photos I have on my computer dont have links... so that confuses me. Or can I click attach images to upload from my computer and then go to the "Insert/edit image" box and just put in dimensions without a URL???
How do I make these images larger in this forum??? thanks, ARP2
Hi ARP2 You can make images larger by filling in the "Dimensions" boxes in the Insert/Edit Image window, with the desired values. I usually use 640x480 format as it is large enough for forum postings. Larger formats are: 800x600, 1024x768 etc. See examples below:
320x240
640x480
800x600
1024x768

Metallic Object link: http://ida.wr.usgs.gov/html/e11028/e1102806.html from MSSS Image Gallery...
The Face image has been deleted from the MSSS site so I found it degraded and flipped at the PIA... here is the link: http://pds-imaging.jpl.nasa.gov/search/search.html#Results
I had posted a face image I noticed not long ago here at the forum... I had lost the link but Chandre found the coordinates so I typed them into the PIA. It kept giving me an imagae, one that looked NOTHING like my face image. So I spent days and hours searching for the correct one and never found it. So I decided to have a closer look at the one image from those coordinates. and I discovered that it had been flipped both vertically and horizontally.... and much more grain was applied!!!
I could not clear it up to the clarity in my first image. There. Thats more proof that NASA IS hiding good images!!! Due to that, the image is probably not usable.... but perhaps? Does anyone have adequate software to get rid of the extra grain they put into this? This image was altered by, I feel,NASA, after I had sent it to Mr. Skipper. Since they monitor his emails, they probably discovered this "face" was too obvious and they obsfucated it more. The first time I got this image, I had to do hardly any clarifying! Matter of fact, if i tried to brighten or sharpen the image it got worse. It has grain, yes, but what important Mars image doesn't? Wish I could get rid of grain.....
The next Mars image is of what appears to be a metallic-looking object on a hill??? Not sure... It reminds me of a similar object by another poster, Counter, but that was on the Moon.
And the YouTube Video on that apparent "doorway" posted by Counter, a HiRise anomaly I think by "undercover alien"? Where did he/she get software to clarify that? I found the link and could NOT get the detail he/she did! I have Adobe Photoshop....
Sorry to ramble on!!!
Thanks for checking this out,
ARP2
Oh no... I just tried to post with images and its NOT letting me post an image!!! I will send this letter and then try to post the images....
