Martian blueberries and other stuff......

http://www.earthfiles.com/index.php?category=Headline+News

"The darker splotches are “wall-to-wall blueberries,” explained Steve Squyres, Ph.D., Cornell planetary geologist and head of the Mars Athena mission, when he presented recent Opportunity rover research at the 41st annual NASA Lunar and Planetary Institute Conference in Houston, Texas, March 1 - 5. “We don't know what is going on here.” Did the blueberries, spherical hematite inclusions discovered by Opportunity at Meridiani Planum, just precipitate through a crack into the rock? Or did the spherules come from melted sulfate-rich sandstone rich in hematite? But there are no blueberries in Concepcion crater. Where did they go? “Rocks are chock-full, but no blueberries are seen on the surface.” The origin of blueberries on Mars is still a mystery. "

"Introduction: As part of a study to determine fossilization

potential of iron microbes, we have placed

terrestrial iron microbes into chemical environments

that favor various fossilization matrices (sulfidic, carbonate,

phosphate, halite, and silica). The goal of the

study is to evaluate potential morphological preservation

of iron microbes in accumulating sediments. The

iron microbes we are studying occur in a small springfed

creek and are part of a persistent iron-microbial

mat community. The iron microbes form well defined

microbial mats and biohermal structures that show

remarkable resilience to erosive events and rebuild a

thick creek-covering mat within a week of erosive

events [1].

The dominant mat forming iron microbe is Leptothrix

sp., an organism that produces sheaths consisting

of parallel arranged polysaccharide nanofibers held

together by an outer capsular layer [2]. These sheaths,

encrusted with iron oxyhydroxides, are the main structural

component of the microbial mats ..."

Looking through the images and the geology taking place, one is drawn to the possibility that the Blueberries are actually growing out of the rock, and that some form of bio life is at work, maybe migrating across the surface using the Martian weather, the outer shell and interior would be ideal protection for any life form needing to spend some time on the surface, and don't forget Mars is suppose to be coming out of an ice age so it is not impossible that bio life would be adapting to change in climate.

Great thread by the way! smile

Hi, thank you for your reply. Yes , temperature should be different at the bottom of craters and wind would have to blow straight into a crater and create sharp shaped  patterns at the bottom of a crater , afterwards disapearing without leaving traces in the surrounding landsacape... Maybe crater floors have a different composition and there is some water / ice.....avaiable.

TRILOGY in origin is more detailed in explaining some details , but written in German. I avoid to use translation programs to translate complex texts, so I had to simplify the text and to change the "dramaturgy".

The occurence of the patterns, if we would like to use this term, is not reduced to the bottom of craters. The patterns cover plain areas, rocky landscapes, surround hillsides. Commonly named dunes, but also mineral occurences, layers etc. No uniform explanation given by NASA/ JPL. Why ? Interesting. These patterns are sometimes directly jumping into the face of the observer, `though other parts of the same image are altered and obfuscated. May we trust in the reality of the patterns ? I do not know. But it seems strange, that there are differing scientific explanations given for the same phenomenon and that "they" do not seem to care about seriously about something obviously interesting anormal, these patterns represent.

Some points:

Mars is a foreign planet. Foreign mechanisms ? For shure. Foreign conditions ? For shure. Foreign laws ? Maybe.

The consistence of the patterns: Are the patterns aggregiated of loose material or are they carved out ?

How has the physics of the windsystem to work , needed to create patterns, like the ones presented in Trilogy, regardless if composed like dunes on earth or carved out of the surface?
Creating geometrically branched complicated sublinear systems calls for "exotic" mechanisms.

If combined physic-chemical processes create new mineral distributions or alterations of present ones, by some sort of rhytmically structured process under the surface, differing in hardness or chemical stability compared to the surrounding material, erosion could expose these structures. Erosion not only by windpower, but also chemical erosion, etching for example, or after transforming unsolulable substances into solulable ones, by simply washing them out in spring. Still there would be the problem of the nature of the process creating these amazingly "intelligent" looking patterns.

Remarks and questions.

A map of mars showing the distribution of the patterns marswide would be helpful. This map/ -s should be related to other maps / datas. Maps of the seasonal weather conditions ( means: humidity, air pressure, temperature, wind directions and windspeed etc. ) Maps of the surface showing seasonal changes in visible light, combined with maps of gravitation differences and spectrum-maps of the surface. Maps of  radiation and static electricity activity. Observations of seasonal changes in the composition of the martian atmosphere in different pats of the martian atmosphere, etc.

"They" have all these datas. They got the picture. "They" have it. It is simply I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E , that " they" do not know. Imagine the efforts in collecting datas , since when ? 200 years ?

What happens at the points the patterns touch crater walls or hillsides ? Would really like to know that. If we regard the patterns as some sort of life, silicium could be involved, either as a part of the metabolism or as a part of its housing substance. This silicium could be extracted from the surrounding rocks and the soil.

If the patterns represent life, if ... than the Rover images of ripple "dunes" could be altered , to leave wrong tracks, whilst same time, images of gigantic pattern fields , taken from 300 km above, are released into the public.

Addendum: How about carbonates or carbonatites on Mars or Moon ? Some datas avaiable or at least a guess, my fellow scientists ?

that's the problem i have with the "dune" theory,

how can they form in the bottom of a crater?

wouldn't the wind pattern have to be consistent to keep the pattern? i don't see any of that
in the Arizona crater, ok, given it is only about 50k yo.

i would think stuff would be piled up on the sides if anything.

i wonder about the temp diff at the bottom of craters. probably colder?

TRILOGY

Epilogue

At the Crossroads.

The Universe is not what it seems to look like. Life isn`t what it seems to look like. Our angle of view, reduced and crippled, forces to take points of view. But points of view are static, the universe is organic. Points of view simulate closed systems. There are no closed systems.

Points of views result in opinions, opinions result in dispute and controversy. In an organic  Universe without limits, borders and frontiers, points of view aren`t even useful construction aids.

Forces, which are fully aware of our illusion, have an easy game. They use duality to deepen the sleep of the ignorant. This explains why against all reason, games and junk are more important in daily life than security, -I mean the real security.

Ignorance chains realization. Something influences our perceiption and spills sedativa into our consciousness. Until the bitter end.

Earth will throw away mankind, the same moment it cannot bear it any longer. The cosmic pirates will save their skin and move to another planet. They regard us as primitive tools, thick as a brick, phlegmatic, easy to manipulate. We do not know anything and we do believe everything. "Today they believe in this , tomorrow they believe in that, the day after tommorrow they `ve forgotten both."

"Cads' fighting when ended is soon mended.", so they say about us. "They are animals.", whilst working hard to keep us in this state.

Same time they`re afraid to their bones, `cause inside  we carry all the opportunities and the chances to transform the world. This is the open secret of alchemy, our promise, our heritage, our gift and our chance.

But if nobody stands up, if none precedes, walking the first steps independently, everything will fail. For shure.

                                                                                                                Finished in march 2009.

hi OSD,

these pics, of what nasa says are dunes, is not.

i would say they are bio, like an algae mat? giving the shape, which looks like whatever it is, is trying to get the most surface area in the least space.

it is obvious it is not geo or mineral in origin. aka sand dunes.

the other rocks,
stromatelites or lichen or moss, it makes no difference right now. it is there and there is evidence they are all over that it is not rock or jpeg compression.

sorry people, just my opinion.

is it possible to make another page for this thread?

the last pic, OSD, is an interesting concept of using dunes to obscure. i could get used to that.

great stuff, anyway!

T R I L O G Y

Part Three

Mars, our brother, far away...

 Unbenannt-Echtfarben-03.jpg

1. Exploring the crater.

Our planetary neighbour in space always influenced the phantasy of mankind. Many Science Fiction novels have been published dealing with mars and its potential inhabitants and movies take us to his surface in a second.

Phantasy , just phantasy.

Mars, or Ares how the greeks called him, is the god of war, his metall is iron, Phobos and Daimos are his companions.Mars played an important role in the stories of gods and men, surprisingly a much more dramatic part than Venus, the symbol of beauty and romantic love. Today Mars is sending a signal to those , who are willing to listen, that will alter our culture and redefine our self image.

Postulates.

First postulate: Regarding Mars, the information policy of space exploring nations is contaproductive. Their policy acts disguising and tries to hide away the facts from the public. How much money has been invested in Mars exploration ? How many satellites have reached Mars ? For how long is this going on ? How many terrabytes of information supposedly have been send to earth ? How much money was spend ?

There is hiding justified by economic or strategic motivations, and there is a widespread backholding of significant scientific, historical and world view transforming discoveries, caused by other reasons. Groups of our astronomers are involved in this cover - up.

The recent ( written in April 2009 ) showy public announcement of the discovery of methane in the martian atmosphere, has been made on earth. Finding the proof happened years ago at the Keck observatory in Hawai. They gave us an old bone to play with, an old bone dating from 2003, `cause somebody was afraid, that the new US administration would take a closer look at the budget and cancel some cooperative NASA projects. Rumours from the backstage whispered that Keck would loose some of its fundings. And suddenly the magicien took the methane out of his hat, where it had rested since 2003. So much would be to say about our fellow astronomers, hiding significant breakthroughs to misuse them as strategic weapons. But another chapter:

The Phoenix and the Methane. 25th of May 2008, the Phoenix probe landed on Mars. Besides the quiet microphone and its "unsuccessful" search for life, one of the "official" mission goals, which would deserve some very special remarks of its own, Phoenix detected traces of methane in the martian atmosphere. A short note appeared in the Phoenix homepage. Some people payed attention and started writing into the guest-book and asked for more information about the discovery. The Phoenix team did not react to these questions. The Phoenix guest-book started to get filled with angry comments about NASA-JPL`s information policy: ".... the worst mission ever...." No reaction. Applause to servile supporter comments, was the only reaction seen, coming from members of the Phoenix mission team itsself. Following this for a while, I got a little bit angry and started to write some remarks into their guest-book, messages to the team and to other writers. Some of these remarks appeared in the guest-book, some got censored , some never appeared. No single event, it happened to other writers too. For example, to illustrate to the "watchers of the guest-book", that something weird was going on and where to look for the reasons, I took the biography of Mikel Griffin, former NASA administrator from Wikipedia and tried to put it into the guest-book. It never appeared there. Guess why ? An interesting biography by the way, what a career ! --------- .

Our second postulate says: Mars carries life, strange martian life, formed by martian evolution pressure ( or by some sort of mars-terraforming process). Despite its depending on water, this life interacts with concentrations of mineral substances.

 DSCN4656.jpg

2. Part of petrified Stromatolithe colony, approx. 290 million years old, Perm, Palatinate.

The second postulate: Back to the roots.

Back to earth, into its past, to the beginning of life. There was bacterian life on earth, millions of years before the Cyanobacterias invented the photosynthesis. The oldest simple lifeforms took out of the atmosphere Carbondioxide, Ammonia and Sulfurhydrogen and used iron, mangan and sulphur for their energy household.

Starting photosynthesis changed the composition of the atmosphere significant. A new metabolism product, called oxygen, killed the anaerobe bacteria families. 2, 5 billion years ago plantages of Cyanobacterias appeared in the fla****er zones of the old oceans. Their petrified remains are called stromatolithes.

Stroma - DSCN4607- -pyrite.jpg

3. Permian Stromatolite colony. Regard the banded structure. Lime with ironore ( Pyrite = iron + sulphur), Perm, Palatinate.

DSCN4607.jpg

4. Crosscut-section through  part of stromatolite colony showing concentric layers with pyrite intrusions. Perm / Palatinate.

Cyanobacterias still exist on earth and are widespread. They grow even in normal aquariums. The metabolism of Cyanobacterias produces methane, a source of CO2 , which emerges from Methane , if high, energyrich Ultraviolettradiation is present. Furtheron CO2 is a source for oxygen. Large quantities of iron had been soluted in the highly saline sea water of the old oceans. An immense part of the photosynthesy created oxygen oxidized the iron, forming unsoluble iron oxides, which builded layers, rhytmical structures, deposited above the cyanobycteria colonies.

 Banded Iron Ore- Stromat.jpg

5. "Banded Iron Ore" from Transvaal together with a hologram of the earth above.

A lot of the commercial mined iron ore deposits are of this type, called " Banded Iron Ore Formations". Cut into colourful slices and polished, these former cyanobacteria colonies look really aesthetic and may be used for ornamental purposes. They contain minerals like tigerseye, hematite and magnetite.

There`s an estimation , that there are twenty times more oxygen bound into the Banded Iron Ore formations, than it is free floating in our recent atmosphere. An incredible amount. The petrified remains of Cyanobacteria colonies are called stromatolithes by palaeontologists. Once there must have been vast areas of fla****er zones covered by cyanobacteria colonies all over the planet.

 Stromatolites_in_Sharkbay.jpg

 6. Recent Stromatolites colony in Sharkbay / Australia taken March 2005, by Paul Harrison. Source: http://de.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei: Stromatolites in Sharkbay.jpg, GNU-Lizenz (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Borromini_SantIvo.jpg)

Today stromatolithe colonies are still existing in a few places of some saline fla****er zones with high salt concentration. A very famous place to watch them is the Marine Nature Reserve in Hamelin Pool, Shark Bay, in Western Australia. Better "food" and some gases would allow them to grow into new dimensions.

In general.

Bacterias are very adaptable organisms. The ancient Archaeens settle in ecological niches, in areas of extreme conditions, surrounding ultrahot Blacksmokers in the deep sea, they live in side of sulphur springs of 90 Celsius temperature or in 12 % NaCl water ( saline water ).

Colony Life : Interaction, intelligence and social behaviour.

In latin language the word "colonus" means something like agricultural labourer or farmer. Bacterias are sociable beings, never occuring as a single individual. They build up well organized colonies, their metabolic products feeding other lifeforms, as parts of complex reticular ecosystems. Cyanobacteria for example live a symbiotic life together with fungus and plants.

James SHAPIRO, university Chicago, states: " Inside of the stromatolithe colonies there are permanent ongoing processes of exchanging chemical substances, which is nothing else than exchanging informations. Bacterias are be able to use highly specialised systems processing and transporting informations. Stromatolithes are capable of picking up informations about food resources and population density, swarm behaviour, division of labour ( specialised functions), cooperation in search for food and defence against enemies." " Bacterias are no primitive protozoons."

Behaviour division and specialising of single cells are comparable to the acting of a uniform organism.

SONEA

and PANISSET talk about bacteria colonies: "These are net-shaped systems, which do not only react, but in fact act with purpose, they learn and they are be able to participate and to anticipate "trends" "

"Maybe all bacterias on earth are part of one single super organism, though not gifted with consciousness." "Cyanobacterias forming stromatolithe colonies, seem to represent such an superorganism."

John HOLLAND, university of Michigan, specialised in artificial intelligence systems ( AI ) says: " The simulation of the creation of complex biological systems is not possible using serial computers. To simulate complex biological systems you need parallel working computers. Why ? `Cause the single parts of the system, though always communicating with each other, concurating and cooperating, act like individuals. A bacteria colony is organized the way parallel working computers are organized. No difference to our own brain."

No difference to our own brain.

TRILOGY does not offer or formulate a hardcore scientific theorie about what the martian ridges represent. Maybe they are completely faked, as so many things, we are confronted with. But if the ridges are real, maybe looking different as presented to us by NASA / JPL, but nevertheless real, than the differing "official" explanations using varying geological-geophysical processes to describe always the SAME phenomenon, cannot be true. TRILOGY  offers some parts of the puzzle bound together in a hypothesis which allows others to dig deeper.

For some very special help, to Mr. J.-P. Skipper my deepest respect.

A kind of introduction.

"Those who wish the world to remain as it is, do not want it to remain."

(Erich Fried, austrian poet, 1921-1988)

"Not words, results show the motivation."

Dedicated to Mr. G. Levin and to Mr. J.-P. Skipper.

"Looking outside."     Woodcut, probably 16 th century.

There is a signpost fixed above the cosmic stage, telling us:
                                                                        "

Farewell illusions! We are free, but you do not remember! "

The cosmic stage is the place of our destination. In fact it is our home, where we should come together. The perspective down from the cosmic stage, reduces life in the auditorium to a wretched substitute, to a broken reflection of the real world. But it seems, we prefer living in the auditorium, living in a five hundred square inch cell.

We bust ourselves. We are prisoners of our imaginations. There is no cell, there is no guard, there is no prisoner, there  are even no auditoriums or stages.....

Nothing and nobody prevents us from climbing the stage, if we want. Farewell illusions!

Excuses do not help. Such a long time we are forced by the powers of dictatorship, serving foreign masters. We get pushed, threatened and oppressed. Sleepers are helpless. Our life is determined in advance, we spend it in a foggy dschungle, covered by foggy concepts. Awakening hurts. Some things are not nice to realize. But otherwise we will be victims till the end of times.

" Do this, leave that, you are forbidden to, we know what to do, you should, everybody does, says , thinks, - amuse, good guy, bad guy, look forward, look back, buy, sell, tomorrow is another day, stay calm, you have no chance, it has to be that way, and so on, and so on...."

There are no practicable alternatives, our masters tell us every day, otherwise there will be anarchy and lawlessness and your life will be in danger, so they say. These are the intimidations they project onto us.

A closer look at these superior personalities, these high educated masters, these smuggy law- and decision makers, all these magnificent leaders we always have to listen and to obey to, these beings hurrying from microphone to microphone, hurrying from camera to camera , laughing about us amused behind closed conference doors, whom we did "allow to pilote the plane", brings us in mind the one and only question:

" You and you and you, and you in the backyard, who tries to hide away, - into which miserable deadend street have you guided this world ? "

                              The emperor's new suit

By Hans Christian Andersen (1805 - 1875)

Many, many years ago lived an emperor, who thought so much of new clothes that he spent all his money in order to obtain them; his only ambition was to be always well dressed. He did not care for his soldiers, and the theatre did not amuse him; the only thing, in fact, he thought anything of was to drive out and show a new suit of clothes. He had a coat for every hour of the day; and as one would say of a king "He is in his cabinet," so one could say of him, "The emperor is in his dressing-room."

The great city where he resided was very gay; every day many strangers from all parts of the globe arrived. One day two swindlers came to this city; they made people believe that they were weavers, and declared they could manufacture the finest cloth to be imagined. Their colours and patterns, they said, were not only exceptionally beautiful, but the clothes made of their material possessed the wonderful quality of being invisible to any man who was unfit for his office or unpardonably stupid.

"That must be wonderful cloth," thought the emperor. "If I were to be dressed in a suit made of this cloth I should be able to find out which men in my empire were unfit for their places, and I could distinguish the clever from the stupid. I must have this cloth woven for me without delay." And he gave a large sum of money to the swindlers, in advance, that they should set to work without any loss of time. They set up two looms, and pretended to be very hard at work, but they did nothing whatever on the looms. They asked for the finest silk and the most precious gold-cloth; all they got they did away with, and worked at the empty looms till late at night.
"I should very much like to know how they are getting on with the cloth," thought the emperor. But he felt rather uneasy when he remembered that he who was not fit for his office could not see it. Personally, he was of opinion that he had nothing to fear, yet he thought it advisable to send somebody else first to see how matters stood. Everybody in the town knew what a remarkable quality the stuff possessed, and all were anxious to see how bad or stupid their neighbours were.
"I shall send my honest old minister to the weavers," thought the emperor. "He can judge best how the stuff looks, for he is intelligent, and nobody understands his office better than he."
The good old minister went into the room where the swindlers sat before the empty looms. "Heaven preserve us!" he thought, and opened his eyes wide, "I cannot see anything at all," but he did not say so. Both swindlers requested him to come near, and asked him if he did not admire the exquisite pattern and the beautiful colours, pointing to the empty looms. The poor old minister tried his very best, but he could see nothing, for there was nothing to be seen. "Oh dear," he thought, "can I be so stupid? I should never have thought so, and nobody must know it! Is it possible that I am not fit for my office? No, no, I cannot say that I was unable to see the cloth."
"Now, have you got nothing to say?" said one of the swindlers, while he pretended to be busily weaving.
"Oh, it is very pretty, exceedingly beautiful," replied the old minister looking through his glasses. "What a beautiful pattern, what brilliant colours! I shall tell the emperor that I like the cloth very much."
"We are pleased to hear that," said the two weavers, and described to him the colours and explained the curious pattern. The old minister listened attentively, that he might relate to the emperor what they said; and so he did.
Now the swindlers asked for more money, silk and gold-cloth, which they required for weaving. They kept everything for themselves, and not a thread came near the loom, but they continued, as hitherto, to work at the empty looms.
Soon afterwards the emperor sent another honest courtier to the weavers to see how they were getting on, and if the cloth was nearly finished. Like the old minister, he looked and looked but could see nothing, as there was nothing to be seen.
"Is it not a beautiful piece of cloth?" asked the two swindlers, showing and explaining the magnificent pattern, which, however, did not exist.
"I am not stupid," said the man. "It is therefore my good appointment for which I am not fit. It is very strange, but I must not let any one know it;" and he praised the cloth, which he did not see, and expressed his joy at the beautiful colours and the fine pattern. "It is very excellent," he said to the emperor.
Everybody in the whole town talked about the precious cloth. At last the emperor wished to see it himself, while it was still on the loom. With a number of courtiers, including the two who had already been there, he went to the two clever swindlers, who now worked as hard as they could, but without using any thread.

"Is it not magnificent?" said the two old statesmen who had been there before. "Your Majesty must admire the colours and the pattern." And then they pointed to the empty looms, for they imagined the others could see the cloth.
"What is this?" thought the emperor, "I do not see anything at all. That is terrible! Am I stupid? Am I unfit to be emperor? That would indeed be the most dreadful thing that could happen to me."
"Really," he said, turning to the weavers, "your cloth has our most gracious approval;" and nodding contentedly he looked at the empty loom, for he did not like to say that he saw nothing. All his attendants, who were with him, looked and looked, and although they could not see anything more than the others, they said, like the emperor, "It is very beautiful." And all advised him to wear the new magnificent clothes at a great procession which was soon to take place. "It is magnificent, beautiful, excellent," one heard them say; everybody seemed to be delighted, and the emperor appointed the two swindlers "Imperial Court weavers."
The whole night previous to the day on which the procession was to take place, the swindlers pretended to work, and burned more than sixteen candles. People should see that they were busy to finish the emperor's new suit. They pretended to take the cloth from the loom, and worked about in the air with big scissors, and sewed with needles without thread, and said at last: "The emperor's new suit is ready now."
The emperor and all his barons then came to the hall; the swindlers held their arms up as if they held something in their hands and said: "These are the trousers!" "This is the coat!" and "Here is the cloak!" and so on. "They are all as light as a cobweb, and one must feel as if one had nothing at all upon the body; but that is just the beauty of them."
"Indeed!" said all the courtiers; but they could not see anything, for there was nothing to be seen.
"Does it please your Majesty now to graciously undress," said the swindlers, "that we may assist your Majesty in putting on the new suit before the large looking-glass?"
The emperor undressed, and the swindlers pretended to put the new suit upon him, one piece after another; and the emperor looked at himself in the glass from every side.
"How well they look! How well they fit!" said all. "What a beautiful pattern! What fine colours! That is a magnificent suit of clothes!"
The master of the ceremonies announced that the bearers of the canopy, which was to be carried in the procession, were ready.
"I am ready," said the emperor. "Does not my suit fit me marvellously?" Then he turned once more to the looking-glass, that people should think he admired his garments.
The chamberlains, who were to carry the train, stretched their hands to the ground as if they lifted up a train, and pretended to hold something in their hands; they did not like people to know that they could not see anything.
The emperor marched in the procession under the beautiful canopy, and all who saw him in the street and out of the windows exclaimed: "Indeed, the emperor's new suit is incomparable! What a long train he has! How well it fits him!" Nobody wished to let others know he saw nothing, for then he would have been unfit for his office or too stupid. Never emperor's clothes were more admired.
"But he has nothing on at all," said a little child at last. "Good heavens! listen to the voice of an innocent child," said the father, and one whispered to the other what the child had said.

"But he has nothing on at all," cried at last the whole people. That made a deep impression upon the emperor, for it seemed to him that they were right; but he thought to himself, "Now I must bear up to the end." And the chamberlains walked with still greater dignity, as if they carried the train which did not exist.

END

Observations

Some details from HiRISE Mars image:

Possible Hydrate-Rich Terrain in Crater in Margaritifer Terra

(ESP_012715_1740), Acquisition date 13. April 2009.

Range to Target Size 268. 7 km ( 167. 9 miles). Original image scale range :

53. 8 cm / pixel ( with 2 x 2 binning ) so objects ca. 161 cm across are resolved.

Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Arizona

ESP_012715_1740_org.jpg

Regard the term "Possible" in the official title description. No spectral analyses datas of the area avaiable to deny or to confirm the "possibility" ?

ESP_012715_1740 - 0-III.jpg

ESP_012715_1740_det I.jpg

In case of the Moon, mineralmapping worked very well, `though besides the water, they only told us about some Fe-minerals ( in the basalts ) and about Plagioklase ( field spare , part of the extensive rhyolithe layers ), really uninteresting old stuff. We would love to hear something about U, Th, Au, rare earths, Pt, etc., about ore concentrations, gravity anomalies , potential atmospherical processes, differences of mineral distribution in relation to the landforms etc., etc., etc. .......

Are there any sediments on the Moon ?

Two remarks.

1. Remark.

In search for water ice underneath, HiRISE has imaged vast areas of Mars repeatedly, to detect fresh craters with fresh ejecta. Eh voila, it worked.

Has the area of ESP_012715_1740 been overflown by MRO a second , third , fourth time, to follow changes in the shape of the so called ridges , seasonal changes, changes in size, colour (!) or whatever ?

ESP_012715_1740_det I c.jpg

For shure MRO has checked out that, if not in this area, for shure in another one full of similar "ridges". Results ??????? Nothing ???????

ESP_012715_1740_det IIIa.jpg

Remember the NASA announcement of discovery of methane producing areas on Mars, January 15. 2009. A New York Times reporter asked Mr. Michael Mumma from Goddard Center for ASTROBIOLOGY if the seasonal changes in methane concentration have been detected another time since the first measurement in 2003 .

Mr. Mumma answered: "We are not willing to discuss other measurements right now." ( ! ) Another possible answer to this question may sound like this: "Yes we detected these seasonal changes , these rhythms, in each year since 2003, and all indices point to a biological process `causing the patterns." Mr. Mummas evasive answer underlines a certain plausibilty of my offered altenative answer.

How many, many other important things you are not willing to discuss right now, my fellow scientists ?????

ESP_012715_1740_det III - 1a.jpg

2. Remark.

What is happening in the contact zone, where the ridges "get in touch" with

(-in) the walls

?

ESP_012715_1740 - 0-III-ca.jpg

ESP_012715_1740 - 0-III-b.jpg

ESP_012715_1740 - 0-III-aa.jpg

ESP_012715_1740 - 0-III-cbca.jpg

Maybe one or two of our brothers in mind is willing to give us a hint now ?

( Methanhydrats, your last chance..... )

In this small image detail taken from the big HiRISE ESP_014429_1505_RED_NOMAP we admire a not very welldone piece of NASA-JPL created  artificial martian landscape. At least two frames   have been projected above each other and fixed at certain points, still distinguishable thanks to  some contrast stengthening and some colour adding. Maybe nothing in this image is real.

Interlude

"As a Theosophist, I am a believer in the creative power of the mind, alike in forming a high ideal & shaping itself to reproduce it. Man is the creature of thought; as he thinks, so he becomes,´ is written in the Hindu Shruti. Once recognise that a man becomes that which he thinks on, & the necessity of lofty ideals becomes obvious. Without such ideals no sure progress can take place; they are the great vis a fronte of evolution...."
