I did notice the similar shot but I thought the angle is very slightly moved (The bottom left selfie has slightly more of Curiosity showing) and it's not synchronised in time so yes something has probably moved between the two shots.

I'll have a good look at them.

A little further up the page there is another shot of this. Maybe something popped out of the sand they did not want us to see.  And, no I am not kidding about that. Here is the shot a few frames back.  Actually the "sand" looks a bit strange when you zoom in on it too.
