yes, as telescopes become cheaper and optics become better I hope we will get better images from Earth. However, there is still the atmosphere which we have to 'look' through and so these photos will never be as potentially good as the ones from satellites going around the Moon.

Also, see the photos by the very well-kniown UK astronomer Sir Patrick Moore Link to thread here. He has "gone upstairs" now but while he was alive he was very well respected and was the face of the UK TV program "The Sky at Night" for years.

Hi rdunk

Thanks for the link to some amazing images by Mr Wojcznsk. He has certainly captured the beauty of the moon.

For your information the small crater situated in the top half of your yellow box below is located approximately at Latitude 13.7727  and Longitude 18.3494.

With this you can easily make some comparisons between this image and various NASA photos including the LROC Quick map. Good hunting!!

A 14 Megapixel Image of the Moon by Bartosz Wojcznski - "A self-taught Polish Astrophotographer Captures High-REs Moon Photo by Combining 32,000 Shots".

A link to this article - Self-Taught Polish Astrophotographer Captures High-Res Moon Photo By Combining 32,000 Shots | Bored Panda .....This link gives some detail about his actual photos.

And this is a link to his full Moon photo which I am using in searching for anomalies. high-rez-moon-photo-astrophotographybartosz-wojczyński-raw.jpg 3,600×4,000 pixels

I have found a few things so far that do raise questions about being anomalous. Of course, to see anything, the image does require significant magnification!

In this OP I will post a strange looking item - a significant shaped vertical structure is what I see. We can know that it is vertical, because it is casting a shadow, and we can see that it is blocking 1/2 our view of a small crater right behind it, to our left in the photo. Also there does appear to be some sort of verticals on top of this anomalous-looking structure.

Nuff said - Look forward to your comments! :)
