Here's a close view of the lower left quadrant of the image seen above.

What do you make of the objects showing on the surface?

Are the objects what they seem to be?

qmantoo. You may like this.

I have had a good look at the PIA download and selected a small area of the image for further study.

The image below is a greyscale version as the colours are irrelevant when looking for geometrical forms or other formations.

Two views are shown. A darker and sharpened greyscale version and the same view darkened by a further 20%.

To appreciate what is contained in the view it is best to observe using a powerful optical magnifier.

Who says there are only rocks on Mars?

We have talked about the image PIA16453 before but I do not think we have discussed this path, track, or water course before or I may be totally losing it and I may have posted this already on here. If so, I am sorry and just put it down to the mind wanderings of an old codger.

However, if I have not posted this before, then this image is significant because it shows fairly clearly a path, track, or water course which has a smooth dirt base and runs for some distance top left to bottom right.

The original may be found by doing a search for PIA16453 mars and returns at least this link which I hope works but I cannot access photojournal.jpl from here. Also http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA16453.jpg
