Q, if you have a look in Google images and enter 'asteroid vesta', scroll down and you will see an image called 'Touring Vesta's Craters'.

The image shown above can be seen in the group selection.

Do you have any further details - such as what asteroid it is (OK, I see it is Vesta) and where you found this image and where we can find more of similar images from different angles perhaps?

Here's something to muse on in the coming New Year

I have just come across this raw capture of the southern hemisphere of an asteroid.

I must admit I have not done much research into asteroids but this particular view peaked my interest as it contains some very unusual surface detail.

I will provide more details later.

Do you see anything recognizable? If you do, what do you see? Hint: Do you spot the figure riding a horse?

You may have to stare at the image for a while before the features start to become apparent but as soon as you spot one it's likely that you will spot more.
