"That is an awesome find, it looks partially mechanical.  there is something else in this pic JPL thought we should not see and blocked it out. The "shadow" is not the same color as all the other shadows in this pic. There is also something creeping out near the "shadow""

I agree the shadow makes no sense at all. The Sun is almost at high noon maybe one o'clock. What could be casting this?

Forgot to highlight the cylinder in the top of the photo.

Not too sure what to make of it TW.  Reminds me of a dragon head.

Looks like a another possible gear on the top right of its head?

I jacked up the contrast, lowered the saturation and brought up the mid-tones to get this crop.

Shown here is the full colour-difference image including the fan-shaped anomaly as seen in the original post (red ellipse). I have placed a yellow ellipse around many of the surface objects that would appear to be something other than just rocks. I think the objects showing within the light blue ellipse may possibly be structures as they display geometrical form.

What is of real interest is the large rock contained within the green rectangle. As the face of the rock was dark in the original image I have lightened it to observe the detail. What natural forces could mould the recognizable shapes that can be seen all over this rock? These shapes appear to have been formed to an intelligent design. What do you think?

You will probably have to zoom in a little to observe the detail.

The uploaded image was 1000 pixels wide but for some reason the forum software has resized the view to 860 pixels wide.

Levelwind, It would appear that there are some interesting anomalous shapes in the area you have highlighted.

Have a look at the image below. I have placed a yellow ellipse around an object that would appear to be artificial in nature.

I have placed a green ellipse around some of the other areas of interest.

This image crop is a jpg version produced from the raw downloaded image that was magnified 300% and then captured and saved as a png file.

That is a strange object.  It doesn't seem to fit with any thing else around it and doesn't show any signs of erosion either.  I started looking around

and found some similar stuff to the left of it.  I wonder if it could be bone?

Here is a really close view of the fan-shaped object. There would seem to be something like a transparent dome attached to it.

I have also placed an ellipse around some of the other objects showing in the view.

I found this rather curious shape whilst searching through the mastcam images for Curiosity - sol 821.

It looks totally out of place compared to the other object detail in the surrounding area.

The anomalous object has a similar shape to that of a vacuum cleaner attachment.

What do you make of it?

I have added this image using the auto colour function in Photoshop to show the colour differences between the surface objects.

No other adjustments were made. It also makes for better analysis of the unusual object.
